This innocent piece of fluff has a thistle seed in it.
In the background, you can see my lawn is coated with an evenly distributed layer of future weeds.
Someday it will rain. The fluff will disintegrate, and a tiny, pointed seed will fall into the soil. If allowed, it will grow into an obnoxious thistle about three feet tall, with a stalk as tough as a barbed broom handle.
It is also a perfect metaphor for your life.
All day long, every day, tiny seeds of doubt and fear are sprinkled on you. If allowed, they will take root and choke out any possibility of a fruitful life.
This is why story is so important.
1. Find your story.
Once you discover the purpose for which you were made, it will give you the strength to put down roots and grow into the person you were meant to be.
2. Live your story.
Every person is great at one thing. Doing that one thing gives you a sense of completeness that cannot be compared to anything else you can do. The more you do that thing, the more joyful your life will become.
3. Teach your story.
Pour into others the possibility of a great life. Remind yourself and your family daily of your story.
Or else the weeds will choke it out.
4. Moral
There are many ways to teach culture, mission, purpose, goals, and success.
While those approaches are valuable, they are also harder to remember.
A story reaches the heart, communicates the truth, and is much easier to remember.
