Traveling Man?

There is a lake in Minnesota called Elysian. It’s next to the town of Elysian and is one of approximately 13,000 lakes sprinkled across the state.

Because there are so many lakes, the locals can be a little picky.

“This one’s a little shallow. Normally, I fish at the lake over there.”

There is a campsite on the shores of this lake, where a collection of RVs and pull-behinds snooze in the early morning sun.

As I walk the paths, I notice that many of them seem to have permanent attachments—porches, gazebos, gardens, and fences.

I ask a local, who tells me that, yes, these towable trailers are permanently positioned here year-round.

Hmm.

You know, we buy these things so we can see the whole countryside, yet invariably, once we find a beautiful spot, we tend to stay in that one place.

It’s a contradiction I find both puzzling and perfectly understandable.

So, my question:

Where is your place?
