“Make Mine a Malted.”
If I have a choice between a shake and a malted milkshake, I’ll always choose the malted.
Two brothers named Horlick were working on a baby formula that combined malted barley, wheat, and powdered milk.
It worked so well for babies that people started using it in other places too, including Antarctic expeditions and soda fountains as a replacement for alcoholic beverages.
Adding malt to milkshakes became common enough that they started calling them “malt shops.”
While it’s not as common as it used to be, for me, it’s still the obvious choice.
When my daughter, @themerigould, asked me out for a birthday treat, I ordered a strawberry malt.
It tastes just like summer. 😊
